The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.
Applications are now open and will close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home with a combined gross home income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic earnings will not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or intend to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to my nsfas wait until the last day.
